“ A really great place to meet up for lunch. Right inside the Brighton City Airport (it's located on the outskirts of Shoreham). It is truly a wonderful place though & definitely deserves having the best ratings across the board. It's a true Art Deco survivor, you wouldn't be surprised to see Hercule Poirot coming out the main entrance as you approach it. I'll definitely be going again but next time I'll take some photos to post, this time I was just enjoying what I was eating, the company & location I was in. ”
“ Arrived not long before they were due to close and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. It's a unique and wonderful location and my young children were very excited to see planes and helicopters and myself the art deco design. Also the prices are very reasonable!!!! A true gem. Many thanks to the team :) ”
“ We had a lovely Christmas celebration here today! There were 20 of us in our party (and a good few others on other tables). The food was EXCELLENT and the service was exemplary; everything was served quickly and hot, there was extra vegetables and lashings of gravy, and the staff were friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. Well done to all involved at the Hummingbird, and a big thank you to Clive for organising OUR party. Happy Christmas to all! (I only took a picture of the pudding; I was too busy tucking into the traditional Turkey feast when that arrived!) ”
“ A lovely visit with one of my clients we had lunch there very nice lovely beers nice food staff for fantastic. The only issue which I think is quite bad. You can’t use a disabled sticker a badge you have to pay for the car park which I think he’s not right. I think if you use the restaurant you better park there anyway but as normal they tend it out so people can scrape the money out of you not fair, especially not barely use a blue badge. ”
“ We visited on 23/3/25 and were shown to a table by the man that we later found out is the restaurant supervisor. He was welcoming, friendly and polite. The food was very good, prices reasonable. Afterwards we had a short chat with the supervisor, I wish I could remember his name he was very nice and he made the whole experience of eating at the Hummingbird even nicer. Recommended. ”
“ Customer service was outstanding. Mark and his team made us feel really welcomed. Nothing was too much trouble. Very attentive but without being overbearing. Order was taken drinks, arrived swiftly, and food not long after. Simple but delicious food. I had scampi and my friend had the Croque Monsieur. There was lots of it and really tasty. It was so relaxing watching the airplanes take off and land, amazing views whilst having lunch. Perfect place to take family and friends. ”
“ Always wanted to try the Hummingbird after landing at Shoreham Airport/Brighton City a couple of times previously. Very welcoming, great vibe, steeped in history, aircraft coming and going and possibly the best bread ever served with a breakfast! ”
“ First visit and was busy on a warm Sunday morning, Short wait for a table inside, Plenty of tables available outside, with great views of planes taking off, Quick service with welcoming staff, Breakfast was excellent, lots of options including cakes, hot drinks and alcohol. ”
